“Weather art” or “feature photos” are what we make pictures of when there really isn’t anything else to do. Don’t get me wrong, I like doing it (occasionally). It can be a great opportunity to get out of doing a lot of other more boring (but equally important) assignments. The nice thing about shooting “weather art” or “feature photos” is that it is completely unstructured. There are no defined subjects, no stories (although it can lead to stories), no reporters to meet up and no start or end of the assignment. It’s a completely self assigned story. I am free to go where ever and make pictures of who/what ever I feel like. I have assembled a collection of images from the last year or so mainly focused on snow.
