On Saturday, Feb. 20 the Georgetown Loop fired up their Steam Engine. It was a long time coming and took a ton of man hours to accomplish. I have covered a lot and experienced a lot as a photojournalist. Nothing has made me smile like a big kid as much as seeing the train in action. It was easy to see why the people who work at the rail yard are as dedicated as they are to preserving the train’s heritage.
Great to hear the George Town loop is is operating. It has been about 30 years since I was there.
It has had its share of problems over the years but seems to be doing a lot better under new ownership. I can’t wait to see the steam engine in action this summer.
