Weather art. It started raining on Friday night and didn’t stop until Sunday afternoon. On the photo budget for the weekend were at least 6 outdoor assignments. A parade, 4 baseball games, a grand opening and a benefit were all moved indoors or canceled. That leaves a lot of “holes” in the papers this week. So I needed to come up with some appropriately titled “weather art” to fill some of these “holes”. I was trying to come up with a rain picture and was not having much luck. So I headed out of Evergreen on Hwy 74 and down through the canyon. About a mile down I came around a turn and saw a line of SUVs with Kayaks and roof racks on top.
I pulled off the road and walked down to the creek. The normally calm Bear Creek was higher and flowing faster than I have ever seen it in the 3 years I have been working in Evergreen. I met a bunch of great kayakers and made some nice images for the Canyon Courier. Even though it was raining, cold and the light was flat I still had a good time making pictures.
