The Plane in the Barn

If you live in Colorado and have traveled the 285 corridor, you probably have seen the plane in the barn. Over the years it has become a landmark to the community and to many who have passed by while heading south on HWY 285. It was a sad day in Conifer on Sunday. More than 300 people came out to watch the plane in the barn make its final flight.  Its owner, Norman Meyer, has become unable to fly because he is now 94 years old (or 93 depending on which day you talk to him). The 1968 Cessna 180 will stay in his family but no longer reside at the ranch. Meyer said that he hopes that it will come back to visit someday. 1. Hey Matt,

These are great. When I was a kid living in Fairplay I always wondered who owned that plane. I always wanted to see it take off or land as we drove to the city for groceries once-a-month. I would have never guessed then that I would find out 20 years later.

Keep up the good work, buddy.

    Josh
