There’s nothing to exciting about the story behind this one. It’s just a frame I made at Thunder Valley in Lakewood last weekend that I liked. Enjoy.

I’m always curious when I see shots like this: do you track the moving object then shoot to freeze the subject but not the background? My attempts at similar shots never come out as crisp. Well done.
John, you have the right idea. I shot this at 1/50th of a second, f22 at 100ISO. With subjects that move as fast as mx, you can achieve this effect at speeds up to about 1/125th of a second. I track the rider as he moves through the turn and try to match his speed while shooting. I made about 15 to 20 frames before I got one that was as sharp as this one. Thanks for checking out the blog!
