Evergreen High School has some of the worst lights on their athletic field that I have ever seen. I should have known that when I started shooting lacrosse at 5:45pm and needed an ISO of 1600 things were going to be bad. Lighting conditions quickly went from bad to worse and pretty soon ISO 12,800 didn’t even cut it. I’m not sure how the players could even see the ball. Overall I would say that even with the absolutely abysmal lighting conditions the images should hold up pretty well for print. The only editing done to the image above was cropping to re-size and a minor adjustment of the levels.

The files that come out of the Canon EOS 7D continue to amaze me. This photo was made in an extremely dark bar/cafe in Evergreen. Shot at ISO3200, 1/15th at f2.8, 70mm. Take that Image Stabilization. I would not have dreamed of making a photo under these conditions with my EOS 1D Mark II N. Perhaps a second 7D is now in order? Click on the photo to see the actual color.
UPDATED: Its actually going to be more like this weekend or early the next week. These things take a long time to write and gather all the samples together. Hang on. I swear its coming.
All I will say is that the review is of one of the newest bodies Canon has just released and I will have a full review along with video and still samples later this week. Its gonna be fun.
